Doctor treating for young child with mother

What We Treat: Sports Injuries

It’s vital for children of all ages to exercise on a daily basis. Team sports serve as the perfect activity for children to unleash their energy, while also instilling important life virtues, such as teamwork and leadership.

However, sports can also be hazardous due to its physical nature, so it’s in everyone’s best nature to have a plan in place in case an injury occurs. Common sports-related injuries include muscle sprains, cuts and bruising. At AFC Doctors Express Urgent Care Southcenter, we treat a number of sports injuries, making our center the perfect resource for any sports program.

During the winter, we see many injuries stemming from hockey and skiing/snowboarding. Sports like baseball, softball and lacrosse lead to many bruises and muscle sprains during the spring, while summer sports often lead to dehydration. Throughout the fall, our center sees many concussions and ankle sprains resulting from football or soccer. Our board-certified physicians can provide splints for any minor sprains, but do not provide casting for bone breaks, as an Emergency Room is best for broken bones. However, we can diagnose bone breaks as our center has an x-ray machine.

To take advantage of our services, visit us any day of the week during our extensive hours. Our center can also administer sports participation physicals, required by many programs prior to admittance. If you wish to speak with one of our medical professionals, call us at 425.291.3300.

We look forward to being your go-to resource during sports season!
